Nonie Yung
Nonie's Story
With over 20 years of experience as a Movement Educator, Nonie Yung first trained as a Chinese Contemporary dancer from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts where she first started practicing GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®. In 1993, she began to study Pilates and Somatics movement in HKAPA
Since 1998 she has studied directly with the method's founder Juliu Horvath and is Specialised Master Trainer in both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® and specialised courses. Nonie is the first Chinese GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer who is able to provide trainings in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Nonie is also a certified Polestar Pilates Trainer having studied post-rehabilitation work with the founder, Brent D. Anderson, and has also studied neuromuscular massage therapy, kinesiopathology, Feldenkrais and Tai-Chi. On the faculty at The Academy of Performing Arts School of Dance, she teaches Anatomy for dancer, bodywork and fundamental of movement class for diploma and degree students, as well as introducing GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS® exercise and Pilates to the students.
In her teaching, she applies GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS® exercise and Pilates with therapeutic hands-on to aid in healing skeletal anatomy injuries and scoliosis, to regain balance and a greater ease in the body. Her recent training in fascial fitness has further deepened her knowledge in training fascia for both athletic and clients.
Nonie passionately teaches working from the inside to outside, stimulating inner energy that resonates to our physical state, and incorporating Somatics and Authentic Movement into daily life through her teaching as well as her own practice.
Her clients range from young children and teens to the elderly, dancers, corporate executives, pre & post natal, athletes and those with injuries or physical limitations.
She actively conducts Teacher Training in Asia, including in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, China and Indonesia. Meanwhile, Nonie constantly takes training courses overseas for continuous upgrading. Nonie studied the Craniosacral Approach (Craniosacral Theraphy CST, Immediately Level) and has supplemented her teaching with this unique holistic approach to the clients in need.
